NCHSE’s Activities
Integrated Watershed Development:
NCHSE has been implementing holistically designed watershed development and management projects at Mili and Micro watershed levels, which have transformed water regimes of whole villages which chronically suffered due to acute water shortage. These initiatives have facilitated increased surface water availability and improving ground water levels leading to increased irrigation to the fields and enhanced crop production. Restoration of degraded common lands/ terrestrial ecosystems have caused higher fuel and fodder availability and promoted animal husbandry in the area.
Climate Smart Sustainable Agricultural Practices
This initiative aims to make the agriculture sustainable through adoption of technologies and practices that are environment friendly and appropriate to the changing climatic conditions. The initiatives help the farmers sustainably increase agricultural productivity and incomes; adapting and building resilience to climate change; and reducing and/or removing greenhouse gas emissions, where possible.
Initiatives towards Socio-economic Transformation of Rural Women
NCHSE is continuously promoting Socio-economic transformation of rural women through facilitation of formation of SHGs and their capacity building.
